Introduction.

In this assignment my aims are to develop the breadth and depth of my knowledge, understanding and skills in communication trough art and design by studying how practitioners use primarily visual imagery to communicate ideas, messages and meanings. I also aim to develop my skills trough experience in selected types of specialist location photography, by creating and developing an understanding of types of specialist location photography.

At the start of this assignment we where given the task of writing down the alphabet and then coming up with an activity or object that we find ‘fun’ starting with that letter. After this each person in the class was given a random letter from the alphabet; one letter per person. I was given the letter ‘X’ with this I need to create a front cover using the i-D conventions, and two double page spreads based on the magazine theme laid out n a magazine format.
The object for the letter X was xylophone. This isn’t really anything that I find fun, this was just a random word that we could think of that began with X, and I also think I would find it quite hard to link a xylophone into a fashion based magazine. I was struggling to come up with something that began with X that I could try and work into a magazine but was also fun at the same time. But after a while I came up with the idea of basing my work on ‘eXpressions’ I know this doesn’t begin with ‘X’ but this is all I could honestly think of.
